UIAA Fall Rating The number of falls the rope held during the UIAA certification test.

Impact Force The force transmitted by the rope to a mass in a standard test. The dynamic test of the standard is an extreme test, as it simulates a factor 1.77 fall with a metal mass, with the rope attached to a fixed point.

Static Elongation Static elongation is the amount of rope stretch under an 80 kg load. The test is done on one strand for single and half rope; two strands for twin rope.

Dynamic Elongation Dynamic elongation is the amount of rope stretch produced by a standard dynamic test. It must be less than 40%. For a climbing fall, the dynamic elongation of the rope is between 10 and 40%.
