About Kathryn

Kathryn, the Vancouver based artist behind Mountain Mind Studio, makes functional ceramic art inspired by landscapes. Her pottery builds from the places she has experienced and dreams of being immersed in. As a mountain enthusiast, Kathryn naturally became fascinated with topography and maps - this led her to explore the intersection of art and utility. Her signature line of Topographic Map Mugs are an homage to specific locations and mirror the rugged coastlines, rolling hills or majestic mountains we’ve come to know. Her work helps remind us of the places and mountain adventures (big or small) that are close to our hearts. Kathryn is grateful and humbled to be living, creating art and learning on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw , and səlilwətaɬ traditional territories.
