The Duncan Boulders, located on the Territory of the Cowichan Tribes, are still one of Vancouver Island’s premier bouldering destinations; however a lot has changed since the first edition of the Duncan Bouldering Guide was released. Approximately 140 new sandstone lines up to V13 have been documented.
Luckily, the 2nd edition has you covered, with over three times more diagrams, star ratings to describe the quality of boulders, a set of icons to identify specific characteristics of the sandstone, an expanded Mandatory Sendage List so you can target the best lines in the forest, and an entirely new set of action shots to get you stoked! This book will also help you take advantage of the new parking and approach instructions, which will reduce the likelihood of land-use conflicts.
Enjoy the sparse crowds, take in the magnificent forest, and have fun exploring the boulders, but please remember that access is a privilege, not a right. It is our responsibility to protect the beautiful Mount Tzouhalem.
