Details
The PeakWorks V8103162 E4 Shock Absorbing Lanyard contain an energy-absorbing unit to limit fall arrest forces in the case of a fall. The shock pack helps absorb the kinetic energy that is created by a body in freefall.
The PeakWorks V8103162 SP (Shock Pack) lanyard is comprised of “tear webbing” which is woven in a manner that allows the webbing to tear when it has a load applied to it. This tearing absorbs a significant amount of downward force under load, reducing injury during a fall. This tear webbing is folded and shrink-wrapped into a compact 1 x 2 x 6″ (2.5 x 5 x 15 cm) pack that is sewn into the lanyard next to the body connector.
The V81031362 E4 has a tear-away absorber limits the arrest force to a maximum of 900 lb (4 kN) designed for a Worker weight of 100 to 254 lb (45 to 115 kg). The PeakWorks V8103162 E4 shock absorbing lanyard has a Automatic panic type Rope Grab ADP (Automatic Dorsal panic) which is basically a metal hand trigger, that when you hold the rope grab down, you are able to move freely up and down the rope. Once you let go, the rope grab latches to the rope and will no longer move up and down preventing the wearer from falling further.
