The Beastmaker 1000 is built for climbers who are relatively new to training and want to make fast progress on finger strength. Its holds are shaped to be comfortable on skin and fingers, and the range runs from big jugs down to 10 mm pockets, so the board suits climbers from 5A (V1) through 7C+ (V10). It has room to grow beyond that if you’re working toward one-arm hangs.
This version is made from FSC-certified beech grown in the EU. It’s slightly denser and darker than the original, with a subtle grain, and it should hold up a little better over years of use. The timber comes from continuous cover forestry, which doesn’t clear-cut the canopy, and it’s kiln-dried with biomass and moved by road. Beastmaker says this gives it the lowest carbon footprint of any hardwood they can reliably source.
