Detailed Description

The Tou* aramid slings by FIXE have been specifically designed for optimal use with Machard and Prusik knots, as well as for equalizing anchors or using in natural anchors. Their aramid core provides high tenacity, exceptional cut resistance, and thermal stability, making them ideal for high-friction maneuvers and extended rappels.

With a tensile strength of 22 kN, they comply with EN 566 standards and are available in 30, 45, 60 cm.

Manufactured in Sant Quirze de Besora (Barcelona – Pyrenees).

Flexibility for Better Handling in Descents

  • Soft polyamide sheath enhances knot grip on the rope, ensuring better handling in autoblocking knots.
  • Facilitates knot untying, especially after being loaded.

Less Stitching, More Maneuverability

  • Compact stitching maximizes usable length of the sling.
  • Transparent retractable sleeve protects the stitching without compromising visual inspection.

When to Use the Tou

  • For autoblocking knots (Machard, Prusik ): The Tou’s soft polyamide sheath ensures excellent grip on the rope, facilitating use in friction hitches. The Prusik knot locks more aggressively and is best suited for rigid or icy ropes.
  • Safe rappelling: Its thermal resistance reduces the risk of wear from friction and heat.
  • Anchor equalization (anchor sling): Ensures a balanced load distribution, reducing tension points and improving anchor stability.
  • Natural anchors (rock bridges, small trees, cord loops): Can be used to secure ropes to natural features, subject to anchor assessment.
  • Extending anchor points: Helps optimize anchor positioning, avoiding sharp angles or leverage issues.
  • Rescue and rope maneuvers: Useful for self-rescue, locking techniques, and other safety procedures.
  • Load transfer in rescue operations: Assists in redistributing loads in critical situations, enhancing efficiency and safety.

The name Tou comes from Catalan and refers to an adjective meaning malleable and flexible, highlighting one of the key attributes of this sling range.

Tou is the ideal choice for climbers and professionals seeking performance, safety, and comfort in every maneuver.
