Should both gates of the "Mussy" face out, face in, or opposing when fixing an anchor in place?

When fixing a Mussy hook anchor, both gates should generally face outward, away from the rock face. This orientation minimizes the risk of the gate snagging on the rock and prevents accidental opening under load. However, some climbers prefer to have one gate facing inward for easier clipping and increased redundancy, especially if a climber may be climbing above the anchor setup. This should be done with caution and only if the specific anchor configuration allows for it without compromising safety.
