Detailed Description
The GRIGRI is the assisted-braking belay device climbers trust in the gym and at the crag. Compact and lightweight, it works with single ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm. The assisted braking makes it easier to hold a climber or catch a fall, and the handle-operated cam gives exceptional control when lowering. It comes in the standard range of colours, plus a limited-edition colour available for a limited time only.
Features
- Assisted braking for gym and crag: feed slack and catch falls using standard belay techniques. Always keep a hand on the brake side of the rope.
- How the braking works: when a climber falls, the device pivots on the carabiner, the rope tightens, and the cam pinches and brakes the rope. Holding the brake side of the rope helps engage the cam, which is why it’s important to always hold it.
- Broad rope compatibility: dynamic single ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm, optimized for 8.9 to 10.5 mm
- Engraved rope-installation diagram on both the inside and outside of the device
- Smooth, controlled lowering: the ergonomic handle releases the rope easily, and the progressive feed gives a smooth, comfortable descent
- For all users: simple to use for lead and top-rope belaying, with a balanced, lightweight, compact and durable design
- Standard and Limited editions: choose from the standard colours or the limited-edition colour while it lasts. All editions are functionally identical.
