Detailed Description
Built for the moments when a boot alone won't cut it, the DART is Petzl's technical crampon for ice climbing and dry tooling. The fully modular ALPEN ADAPT platform lets you swap front points, front sections, linking bars, and bindings independently, so one crampon adapts from snow couloirs to pure ice to mixed dry tooling without needing a second pair. Secondary points are tuned to bite into chandelier and cauliflower ice alike, and the whole system is compatible with the KIT CORD-TEC for a lighter, more packable setup.
Features
- Toothed front points for strong penetration in ice, with length adjustable via a single screw (Petzl patent)
- Swaps between mono-point and dual-point configurations: dual-point for couloirs and gullies, asymmetrical dual-point for pure ice, short mono-point for ice, long point for mixed terrain
- 8 secondary points plus the mono-point for stable support across variable ice conditions
- Rear-facing third row of points adds traction on descents
- Steel construction throughout for durability
- LEVERLOCK FIL binding system, built for boots with toe and heel welts
- ANTISNOW DART system reduces snow buildup
- Asymmetrical front sections shaped for technical mountaineering boots
- Fully modular ALPEN ADAPT system — front points, front sections, linking bars, antibott plates, and bindings all replace independently
- Compatible with FLEXLOCK bindings (FIL FLEX and BACK FLEX) for boots without heel and toe welts, and with all toe bails for boots with or without toe welts, including stiff, flexible, telemark, and snowboard boots
