Details
The Whitby Safety Rescue Lock Knife is able to be opened in a single handed operation and features a 2.5" stainless steel teflon coated blade that is also able to fold into the high vis thermoplastic handle. When folded into the handle the unit measures 4.5" When the blade is folded out of the handle it will lock into position so that there is no danger of it folding back on your fingers. The blade features a very rounded end with hooked blade that makes an excellent webbing/rope cutter - enabling you to cut away harnesses and belts with minimal danger to the rescuee. Also on the end on the handle there is an eyelet that is ideal for securing it onto a lanyard so that in the event of a rescue you can't drop and lose it.
The Whitby rescue knife is also available without the Hooked blade.
Whitby Safety Rescue knives are the ideal addition to the safety kit of any canoeist or white water kayaker. If you are carrying a throwbag, while out white water paddling, it is essential that you carry a knife in the event of a throwline getting caught or snagged.
